Paltry Prom Pictures

This is mainly because Heather wouldn't stop nagging me about it, and for whomever is interested...I guess.
These are a small portion of the Church Prom Pictures from the dance that was last May or something. I don't even know anymore, that's how long ago it was.
There were pictures of other people, but I didn't think that they were important enough to be mentioned or shown.

Prom Pics

Since I'm such an overachiever (as you all know very well) I decided to do something special afterwards. The corsage that I made was for this, but I didn't think that would be nearly enough. What I did was I chose several of the pictures from prom that were taken, and floating around facebook mostly, and compiled them. I wanted to make a photo album that I could give.

So that's exactly what I did! Now, I know what you may be thinking. Even though Yuri is so handsome, he couldn't have had nearly enough resources to print out over 40 pictures and put them in a nice photo album as well.
Well, you'd be surprised how lucky I can get when I need to :D
First, the photo album. I was able to pick up a very nice one at the Dollar Store...for $1 only!

That was the easy part. While I was looking for a photo album in the stores I was also researching the cheapest price to print photos. Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Target and CVS Pharmacy are the option at my disposal, and I've utilized all them before so I knew what I was getting myself into. However, the CVS Pharmacy was having a promotion that really helped me out. Whenever I would register a CVS Club card online I would be given 50 free photos. So I was able to get all of my pictures printed out for free!

I ended up spending close to nothing for the memories (and also lost of my time, but I waste it anyways).

Overachieving like a bandit

My friends birthday is approaching soon. This is the same friend whom I escorted to the Church Prom and gave those origami flowers.
I'm trying to get in good with her so that would explain why all these thoughtful things are coming from me.

What I have planned is this card. I'm such a genius that I could put all of it together. Most of the stuff sticks out somehow. The bunny, obviously. Also, the flower on the right has petals that jump out a little bit and the grass blades do also.I just need one thing now. A sentence that would be appropriate for the magnitude of this amazingness. I don't want to put anything like
"I hope you have a 'hoppy' birthday!" in it because that's stupid.
I'm pretty much stuck at this point and would appreciate some ideas.
I have more planned for the birthday by the way, but this is how much I'm willing to share with you!

16 Weeks of Break

So recently, since summer break has been going since May for me, I have been doing a couple of different things...one of them isn't blogging as much in case you haven't noticed.
I've been working on merit badges and am up to 52 right now
I finally got the intricacies of my job hashed out and start as soon as I'm 18
Youth Conference is coming up, even though I hate that it's so late, and my duties are fulfilled for it
There was also a Stake challenge issued to all the youth to read the entire Book Of Mormon in approximately the same time that it took for it to be translated (65 days) and I actually did it all, so proud of myself
I've also been working on making these awesome pop-up cards that I've found online, and the guy who comes up with them is a genius.

The following video is a pop up that I would like to make so badly, but the instructions are not posted anywhere online. The only option I have would be to purchase the book that it's in for around $60, but that's not happening any time soon.

Schools starts on my birthday this year (Joy of Joys *roll my eyes*) but I'm looking forward to starting at a real job and starting to attend institute.

Corsage

Since I am so rugged and awe-inspiring I needed to do something really amazing. So, since the Church Prom is coming up soon, I promptly went out and asked a nice girl to accompany me to the dance. I debated about whether or not it was necessary of me to go out and purchase a corsage. But then, since I am so thoughtful, I decided to make a corsage especially for the upcoming event. Here are the fruits of my labor :D

The photos don't really give it justice because of whatever reason, but this is not the point. The point is that I am thoughtful

The flowers were a project that I came across online while I was searching for corsage ideas. I printed the flowers out, glued them together. Used a peyote stitch on the bracelet (after numerous failed attempts and crying fits) with a stretchable cord and put ribbon on it, because everybody loves ribbon.

So, after this week I'll post about the dance and the activity that is planned prior to it, i.e. dinner at Stake President's House.
You'll just have to stay posted then, mwahahahahahaha

Origami?

Recently I have been attempting to prove my skills in the art of "origami". I have had minimal help (from Kirill *roll my eyes*) making the roses. I did make the lilies myself though.
I was looking for a third flower to make that wasn't horrible and I was having a difficult time finding anything. Then an idea struck me. Last time when we were in Logan, Heidi was doing something for Relief Society about using origami, and how she was complaining and whining and just failing at life with it, but I digress.
So, anyways, I was looking through her old posts about when she complained and ranted about the origami because I wanted to see if there was a different flower on there, there was...unfortunately no name and/or instructions.
Then I decided to look at the comments to see what I said, because knowing me...I always say something. Here is what it said:

Origami is one of the most boring things that I can think of. All you do is fold and cut paper, get paper cuts, and when you are done…nothing. You put it down, and just look at it. You do all that work for nothing. If you don’t have a life, and have a lot of paper to spend, then give it a go, but i am always too busy with stuff to do this.
- Yuri. June 11, 2007

Evidently, I have since changed my mind on the matter.

P.S. - This also just happens to be my 100th post, but that isn't nearly as important as you may think.
